I was born Marie Mélanie Chancy on October 19, 1982, in Montréal, Canada. I am of Haitian descent and have been living in Miami since July 1991. Since moving to the US, I have had to tell people that my name is Mélanie because in Montréal, you are called by your “middle” name, or both names. My mother never intented for people to call me Marie (especially since that is her name), and she says if I would have been born in Miami, my name would have been Mélanie Marie.
I no longer carry the last name Chancy as of 07.07.07, when God united me to the most wonderful husband in the world, Herns Eugene…(you can check out his blog hernseugene.wordpress.com). I am an incredibly lucky woman and I thank God for my husband, every chance I get.
I serve my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ in whatever capacity attainable. I enjoy playing and coaching basketball, talking to young people about all sorts of things, and playing with my new puppy! (You’ll see more of her on my page). Of course, I love my HEME time, which is time set apart just for me and my Sweet Pea! POIS DOUCE…
